Where does battery research stand today? – Present day’s and future challenges to be discussed at international conference „Next Generation Batteries – Materials, Technology, and Applications“
In 2010, the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (Institute for Advanced Study, HWK) started its Energy Research program. To mark the start of this new prgram, the HWK in June 2010 hosted the international conference „Next Generation Battery Materials“. Well-known, excellent researchers as well as younger scientists presented their work in presentations and posters. They focused on the current debate about efficient and demand-meeting storage of electricity and gave an outlook on future research questions. The schedule of the 2010 symposium can be found here: http://www.h-w-k.de/?id=1604&L=1.
Now, three years later, the HWK will be the venue for another conference on battery research. The list of themes and topics will begin with materials research and continue to technologies and applications. Renowned keynote speakers will present their current research.
For approximately 60 participants this will be an opportunity not only to discuss with these experts, but also to present their own work in presentations and poster sessions. Abstracts for talks can be submitted until April 15, for posters until May 29. Detailed information about abstract submission and registration for the conference can be found in the registration form, which can be downloaded from this site.
Energy Research in Northwestern Germany still is an emerging field. Therefore, one of the important tasks of the conference is to provide a forum for the different groups in our region to network with our international guests, and to strengthen connections within the region.
